Human Tissue alpha-L-fucosidase (FUCA1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative determination of Tissue alpha-L-fucosidase (FUCA1) in human samples. Alpha-L-fucosidase is a lysosomal hydrolase (EC 3.2.1.51) that hydrolyses the alpha-1,6-linked fucose joined to the reducing-end N-acetylglucosamine of the carbohydrate moieties of glycoproteins, encoded by the FUCA1 gene located on chromosome 1p34 (UniProt P04066). Dysregulation of the enzyme is implicated in the autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder fucosidosis (FUCA1D) and has been associated with cancer progression, making it a biomarker of interest in cell biology research.

The assay has been validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.14 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.7%. Linearity has been characterised across serial dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, and spike-and-recovery in human serum averaged 111% (range 105–117%) while plasma averaged 113% (range 107–119%). The kit is supplied with the components required to run the sandwich ELISA workflow, including a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, detection reagents, diluents, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer, together with a technical manual.
