Human TIMP1/Metalloproteinase inhibitor 1 ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this is a sandwich ELISA, double antibody kit designed for the quantitative measurement of human TIMP1 (Metalloproteinase Inhibitor 1) in biological samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and has been validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

TIMP1 is a key regulator of metalloproteinases, enzymes that break down the extracellular matrix in tissues. By inhibiting these enzymes, TIMP1 plays a critical role in tissue remodelling and the maintenance of tissue homeostasis. Dysregulation of TIMP1 has been linked to cancer, arthritis, and fibrosis, highlighting its importance as a biomarker for disease research and therapeutic development. The kit supports accurate quantification of TIMP1 levels in human samples, enabling investigations into disease pathogenesis and progression.

The assay offers a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL. Linearity has been confirmed in serum (88–104%), EDTA plasma (82–100%), and heparin plasma (83–99%) across dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8. Recovery ranges fall between 85–105% (serum), 92–105% (EDTA plasma), and 89–103% (heparin plasma). Reagents should be stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months, with TMB substrate, biotin-labelled antibody, and HRP-Streptavidin conjugate protected from direct light.
