Human Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It recognizes natural and recombinant human Thyroid peroxidase. The kit provides a detection range of 31.2-2000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 15.6 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 7.2%.

Dilution linearity has been validated across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Recovery averages 98% (range 92-104%) in serum and 100% (range 94-106%) in plasma. TPO (UniProt P07202, 96,699 Da) is a membrane-bound enzyme that catalyses the iodination and coupling of the hormonogenic tyrosines in thyroglobulin to yield the thyroid hormones T(3) and T(4), and the protein interacts with DUOX1, DUOX2 and CYBA, with isoform 3 localised to the cell surface.

TPO is essential for thyroid hormone production and is implicated in autoimmune thyroid disorders such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Graves' disease. For research use only.
