Thyroglobulin (Tg) is a 660 kDa homodimeric glycoprotein synthesized by thyroid follicular cells and serves as the precursor for thyroid hormones triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). Circulating Tg is monitored as a serum tumor marker in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC), where serial measurement after total thyroidectomy and radioiodine ablation helps clinicians track residual or recurrent disease. The Assay Genie Human Thyroglobulin PharmaGenie ELISA Kit enables quantitative detection of human Tg in research samples including cell culture supernatants, heparinized plasma, EDTA plasma, and serum, supporting translational research, biomarker validation, and basic thyroid biology studies. Reconstituted standards and concentrated detection antibody should be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw cycles, while the pre-coated microplate can be kept refrigerated until first use.
