Human Thymidine Phosphorylase (TP) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of Thymidine Phosphorylase (TP, EC 2.4.2.4), also known as PD-ECGF, TYMP, or gliostatin, an enzyme that catalyzes the reversible phosphorolysis of thymidine into thymine plus 2-deoxy-D-ribose-1-phosphate. Through 2-deoxyribose generation, TP stimulates endothelial chemotaxis and angiogenic signaling, and is frequently overexpressed in colorectal, breast, gastric, and pancreatic tumors, supporting its use as a marker of microvascular density and an indicator of 5-fluorouracil activation. The pre-coated microplate uses a human-specific capture antibody with no significant cross-reactivity with rat or mouse TP, and the supplied pack provides reagents for 96 determinations in a research use only in vitro workflow. Reagents should be stored refrigerated at 4 degrees C, aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and equilibrated to room temperature before the assay.
