Human Thymidine kinase, cytosolic (TK1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate measurement of human Thymidine kinase, cytosolic (TK1) levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay specifically detects natural and recombinant human Thymidine kinase, cytosolic, and uses a colorimetric detection method.

Thymidine kinase is an essential enzyme involved in DNA synthesis and cell proliferation, making it a valuable marker for monitoring cell growth, proliferation, and DNA repair processes. Elevated levels of thymidine kinase have been linked to diseases including cancer, supporting its use as a biomarker in research. The target protein is localised to the cytoplasm and is described as a homotetramer (UniProt: P04183).

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.06-4 pmol/L and a sensitivity of 0.01 pmol/L, with an intra-assay CV of 5.3% and an inter-assay CV of 8.6%. Linearity for serum at dilutions 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 was 118-127%, 104-115%, 107-116% and 89-101% respectively; for EDTA plasma 100-109%, 109-119%, 104-116% and 87-96%; and for heparin plasma 107-119%, 108-116%, 84-94% and 87-97%. Recovery averaged 95% for serum (range 89-101%) and 97% for plasma (range 91-103%). For research use only.
