Human Thrombospondin-2/TSP2 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA, double antibody immunoassay from Assay Genie is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Thrombospondin-2 (TSP-2) concentrations in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The colorimetric assay has a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL with a standard range of 0.313–20 ng/mL.

Validated performance data show intra-assay CV below 8% and inter-assay CV below 10%. Recovery ranges in spiked samples were 85–103% for serum, 86–100% for EDTA plasma, and 85–101% for UFH plasma. Linearity testing in serum yielded results of 92–105%, 94–104%, and 89–105% at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions. The kit is supplied with a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labelled antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate, stop solution, and wash buffer, with storage at 4°C for 6 months.

TSP-2 is an adhesive glycoprotein (UniProt P35442) that mediates cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions, functions as a ligand for CD36 with antiangiogenic properties, and belongs to the thrombospondin family. The protein is located at chromosomal region 6q27 and is involved in cell adhesion, negative regulation of angiogenesis, and positive regulation of synaptogenesis. Measurement of TSP-2 levels can provide insights into the pathophysiology of diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and fibrosis. This product is intended for research use only.
