Human Thrombospondin-1 (THBS1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Thrombospondin-1 (THBS1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. The assay uses colorimetric detection and is reactive with human samples.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the kit has a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.098ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported as 4.3% (Intra CV), with inter-assay precision of 7.9% (Inter CV). Linearity has been demonstrated across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, in serum (97-107% to 109-119%), EDTA plasma (93-103% to 103-115%), and heparin plasma (99-108% to 99-109%). Recovery averages 103% for serum (range 97-109%) and 105% for plasma (range 99-111%). The assay recognises natural and recombinant human Thrombospondin-1.

Thrombospondin-1 is an adhesive glycoprotein that mediates cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions, binds heparin, and serves as a ligand for CD36 to convey antiangiogenic properties. The protein is listed under UniProt P07996 and is relevant to cardiovascular research as well as studies in cancer and inflammation. The kit is intended for research use only.
