Human THOP1/Thimet oligopeptidase ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human THOP1 (Thimet Oligopeptidase), also referred to as Endopeptidase 24.15 or MP78. The assay is intended for research use only and is reactive with human samples including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. THOP1 is an enzyme involved in the processing and degradation of peptides in the body, including the metabolism of neuropeptides under 20 amino acid residues long and cytoplasmic peptide degradation. It plays a role in biological processes such as the regulation of blood pressure, inflammation, and neuronal function. Dysregulation of THOP1 has been associated with hypertension, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, ischemic stroke, and cancer, making it a biomarker of interest across cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, and oncology research.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.313-20 ng/mL. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with absorbance measured at 450 nm. Recovery in serum averages 96% across a range of 90-101%.
