Human Thioredoxin Reductase 1 (TrxR1) ELISA Kit

TrxR1 is a cytosolic selenocysteine-containing oxidoreductase that drives the thioredoxin antioxidant system alongside thioredoxin and NADPH. This Assay Genie kit supports quantitative measurement of TrxR1 in human-derived research specimens, enabling studies of cellular redox balance, oxidative stress, and tumor biology where elevated TrxR1 has been linked to cancer cell proliferation and chemoresistance. The enzyme is a homodimer of ~70 kDa subunits, with the C-terminal Gly-Cys-Sec-Gly active site motif characteristic of mammalian thioredoxin reductases. Investigations of auranofin and other TrxR1 inhibitors, or redox signaling pathways in lung, breast, and colorectal cancer models, frequently employ this target. Reagents should be stored refrigerated; allow the kit to equilibrate before running the assay, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the reconstituted standard.
