Human Thioredoxin reductase 1, cytoplasmic (TXNRD1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Thioredoxin reductase 1, cytoplasmic (TXNRD1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is configured for use with human samples. Thioredoxin reductase 1 is an essential enzyme involved in redox regulation and antioxidant defence, helping to maintain cellular redox balance and protect cells from oxidative stress. Dysregulation of TXNRD1 has been implicated in cancer, cardiovascular disorders and neurodegenerative conditions.

The assay detects natural and recombinant human Thioredoxin reductase 1, cytoplasmic. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.156 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 8.9%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across sample dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery in serum averages 104% (range 98–110%) and in plasma averages 106% (range 100–112%).

The functional enzyme is reported as a homodimer, and isoform 5 of TXNRD1 localises to the cytoplasm. The kit is intended for research use only and is suited to applications in cell biology research.
