Human Thimet oligopeptidase (THOP1) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Thimet oligopeptidase (THOP1), also known by the synonyms Endopeptidase 24.15 and MP78. The kit is reactive against human samples and is validated for use with serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. Detection is performed by colorimetric ELISA.

THOP1 is a zinc-dependent cytoplasmic oligopeptidase involved in the metabolism of neuropeptides under 20 amino acid residues in length and in cytoplasmic peptide degradation. It is also able to degrade the beta-amyloid precursor protein and generate amyloidogenic fragments. Dysregulation of the enzyme has been implicated in Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and ischemic stroke, supporting its relevance to neuroscience applications.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.13ng/mL. Intra-assay coefficient of variation is 6.7% and inter-assay coefficient of variation is 8.3%. Recovery in serum averages 89% (range 83-95%) and in plasma averages 91% (range 85-97%). The kit is specific to natural and recombinant human Thimet oligopeptidase and is supplied for research use only.
