The Assay Genie TGF-beta 1 PharmaGenie ELISA Kit quantifies both latent and biologically active transforming growth factor beta 1 in human specimens using an antibody-pair format. Because circulating TGF-beta 1 is normally sequestered within a latent complex, the protocol incorporates an acid activation step before plate loading, allowing investigators to report either total or free cytokine concentrations from the same sample. The standard curve spans a detection range of 31.2 to 2000 pg/mL with a sensitivity below 10 pg/mL, sensitive enough to resolve endogenous TGF-beta 1 released by fibroblast, epithelial, and immune cell cultures, and to compare patient cohorts in translational research.

Each kit provides a pre-coated microplate strip, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, lyophilized recombinant TGF-beta 1 standard, wash buffer, and TMB substrate. A standard run uses 50 µL of activated sample per well with an overnight incubation followed by a chromogenic readout.
