Human TFF2/Trefoil factor 2 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative detection of human TFF2 (Trefoil factor 2), also referenced by the synonyms SML1, SP, Spasmolysin and Spasmolytic Polypeptide. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich ELISA format and is intended for use with human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types.

The kit delivers a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL with a measuring range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL. TFF2 is described as a key protein involved in mucosal protection and repair within the gastrointestinal tract, where it contributes to maintaining mucosal integrity and promoting wound healing, making it a valuable biomarker for gastrointestinal disease research. Kit components should be stored at 2–8°C, with a stated shelf life of 12 months.

The procedure follows a standard sandwich ELISA workflow: reagents and TMB substrate are equilibrated to room temperature, after which standards, samples and blanks are loaded onto the pre-coated plate and incubated at 37°C for 90 minutes. A biotin-labeled detection antibody is then added and incubated at 37°C for 60 minutes, followed by HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes. TMB substrate is added and incubated in the dark for 10–20 minutes, the reaction is stopped, and absorbance is measured at 450 nm. Reported linearity and recovery data cover serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.
