Quantify human Trefoil Factor 3 (TFF-3) with this research-grade ELISA kit from Assay Genie, part of the PharmaGenie line aimed at biopharmaceutical and clinical research workflows. TFF-3, also referred to as intestinal trefoil factor (ITF), is a small secreted mucin-associated peptide belonging to the trefoil factor family, whose defining feature is the P-domain (trefoil domain) stabilized by three conserved intramolecular disulfide bonds. After secretion the peptide forms dimers through an additional cysteine residue and is constitutively expressed by intestinal goblet cells, where it supports mucosal barrier integrity, promotes epithelial restitution following injury, and modulates apoptosis in damaged epithelium.

This kit is calibrated for measurement in human cell culture supernatant, plasma, and serum samples within research applications investigating gastrointestinal inflammation, mucosal healing, gut barrier dysfunction, and oncology. Published studies have associated altered circulating TFF-3 concentrations with inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal and gastric mucosal injury, mucinous adenocarcinomas, and neonatal intestinal disorders. Reactivity is targeted to human TFF-3, supporting epithelial repair research and biomarker validation efforts.

The 96-assay format supplies the pre-coated microplate, recombinant standards, detection reagent, substrate solution, wash buffer, and diluents required to complete the run. All kit components should be stored as instructed in the product insert; allow reagents to reach room temperature before opening and use. Intended for research use only, not for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical decision-making.
