Description

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Transcription Factor A, Mitochondrial (TFAM) using a double-antibody, colorimetric workflow. The kit is reactive with human specimens.

The assay accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate and other liquid samples. Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a measurable range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL. Reagents are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. In spiked recovery testing, average recoveries were 94% in serum (n=5, range 88–103%), 95% in EDTA plasma (n=5, range 88–102%), and 94% in heparin plasma (n=5, range 85–102%). Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 86–105%, 89–95% and 92–104% for serum; 88–100%, 83–100% and 86–96% for EDTA plasma; and 87–99%, 81–99% and 83–94% for heparin plasma.

TFAM is a key protein involved in mitochondrial DNA maintenance and transcription, playing a crucial role in regulating mitochondrial biogenesis and function. Dysregulation of TFAM has been linked to various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic syndromes, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and exploring potential therapeutic interventions.
