Description

A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human TATA-box-binding protein (TBP) in biological samples. The assay uses colorimetric detection and is reactive with human samples, recognising both natural and recombinant human TBP (UniProt P20226). TBP is a general transcription factor that functions at the core of the DNA-binding multiprotein factor TFIID; binding of TFIID to the TATA box is the initial transcriptional step of the pre-initiation complex and contributes to the activation of eukaryotic genes transcribed by RNA polymerase II.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.169ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is 4.9% (Intra CV) and inter-assay precision is 7.5% (Inter CV). Linearity in serum (N=5) is 98-108%, 82-94%, 88-98% and 99-108% at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions; EDTA plasma (N=5) gives 98-108%, 87-95%, 90-100% and 104-114%; heparin plasma (N=5) gives 92-101%, 105-114%, 105-115% and 110-120%. Recovery averages 98% (range 92-104%) for serum and 100% (range 94-106%) for plasma.

The kit is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Listed synonyms include TATA sequence-binding protein, TATA-binding factor, TATA-box factor, Transcription initiation factor TFIID TBP subunit, GTF2D1, TF2D and TFIID. The target is located in the nucleus and is associated with research in neurosciences. Storage is at -20°C and the product is for research use only.
