Description

A high-quality Sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Tartrate-Resistant Acid Phosphatase 5b (TRACP-5b) in human samples. Manufactured by Assay Genie, the kit uses a colorimetric detection method and a double-antibody sandwich format, and is reactive with human samples including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

TRACP-5b is an enzyme that plays a key role in bone metabolism, specifically in osteoclast function and bone resorption. Elevated levels are associated with bone-related disorders such as osteoporosis and Paget's disease, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and developing potential treatments. The kit offers a sensitivity of 0.188 mIU/mL and a measurable range of 0.313-20 mIU/mL (20mIU=5ng). It should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Reported linearity spans 85-104% across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions. Spike-and-recovery performance is reported as 94-104% (average 97%) for serum, 88-103% (average 95%) for EDTA plasma, and 88-96% (average 93%) for heparin plasma. The assay procedure involves equilibrating reagents, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after stop solution addition.
