TACR1, also designated NK1R, is a G protein-coupled receptor that mediates cellular responses to the neuropeptide substance P and is widely studied in neuroscience, inflammatory signaling, and pain pathway research. This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured for measurement of human TACR1 protein in tissue homogenates and cell lysates, supporting applications such as receptor expression profiling across different brain regions, characterization of neuronal and immune cell models, and evaluation of pharmacological modulators targeting the substance P signaling axis.

The assay is supplied as a complete kit containing a pre-coated microplate and all reagents required to generate a standard curve and run experimental samples in parallel, with the well plate format accommodating up to 96 determinations per run. Researchers investigating GPCR biology, neurokinin receptor regulation, or downstream signaling through the NK1 pathway can compare TACR1 levels across treated versus untreated conditions, between disease models and controls, or among tissues with differing receptor densities.

Each kit provides sufficient materials for the full plate run, and the protocol accommodates the viscosity and protein composition typical of tissue homogenate and lysate preparations. The assay supports studies that require reproducible quantification of human TACR1 without the need for radiolabeled ligands or specialized receptor-binding assays, making it a practical tool for laboratories focused on tachykinin receptor pharmacology, neuroimmunology, and translational research on chronic pain, mood disorders, and inflammatory conditions. Intended for research use only.
