The colorimetric assay is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. TAB2 is a key component of the TGF beta-activated kinase 1/MAP3K7 signaling pathway, and its dysregulation has been associated with cancer, inflammatory disorders, and autoimmune conditions, supporting its use as a biomarker in cell biology research.

Performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a working range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL. Linearity testing at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions gave ranges of 92-102%, 86-98%, and 86-97% for serum; 87-91%, 82-96%, and 83-92% for EDTA plasma; and 80-94%, 83-100%, and 84-99% for heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery testing produced averages of 94% (serum), 91% (EDTA plasma), and 94% (heparin plasma), with respective recovery ranges of 85-102%, 86-101%, and 87-102%. Kit components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months, with selected components also suitable for -20°C storage.
