Human Synapsin-1 (SYN1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Synapsin-1 (SYN1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and recognises natural and recombinant human Synapsin-1, with reactivity confirmed for human samples.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the assay has a detection range of 0.312-20ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.186ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported at 6.4% (CV) and inter-assay precision at 9.2% (CV). Linearity has been evaluated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery has been reported for serum (average 103%, range 97-109) and plasma (average 105%, range 99-111).

Synapsin-1 is described as a neuronal phosphoprotein that coats synaptic vesicles, binds to the cytoskeleton, and is believed to function in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. The kit is intended for research use only, within the neurosciences research area.
