SYCE1 (Synaptonemal Complex Central Element 1) is a core structural component of the synaptonemal complex that tethers homologous chromosomes together during prophase I of meiosis. Quantitative measurement of SYCE1 supports research into meiotic recombination, germ cell development, and the genetic basis of primary ovarian insufficiency and non-obstructive azoospermia.

This Assay Genie kit is configured as a 96 Assays microplate with a colorimetric readout. It uses a human-specific capture antibody, with no significant cross-reactivity observed against the paralogous proteins SYCE2 and SYCE3. Standards and diluted samples are loaded at 100 uL per well; the unopened plate should be stored refrigerated at 4°C and protected from light, with reconstituted reagents aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
