Human Superoxide Dismutase 3, Extracellular (SOD3) ELISA Kit

Superoxide dismutase 3 (SOD3), also called extracellular superoxide dismutase (EC-SOD), is a copper- and zinc-containing tetrameric glycoprotein secreted into extracellular compartments, where it catalyzes the dismutation of superoxide radicals into hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen. Unlike cytosolic SOD1 and mitochondrial SOD2, SOD3 binds heparan sulfate proteoglycans on endothelial cell surfaces and within connective tissue, anchoring antioxidant defense at the cell–matrix interface. This Assay Genie ELISA kit is configured as an in vitro quantitative immunoassay for human SOD3, supplied in a 96 assays format intended for research use only.

Quantifying extracellular SOD3 is relevant to studies of oxidative stress, vascular inflammation, pulmonary disease, diabetic complications, and tumor microenvironment biology, since altered extracellular antioxidant capacity contributes to endothelial dysfunction and tissue damage.
