The Assay Genie SUN1 quantitative immunoassay supports research on the Sad1/UNC-84 nuclear envelope protein by providing a standardized detection format for experimental samples. SUN1 sits in the inner nuclear membrane, where it partners with nesprins within the LINC complex to tether the nucleoskeleton to the cytoskeleton, mediate nuclear positioning, drive chromosome alignment during meiosis, anchor telomeres to the nuclear envelope, and recruit DNA double-strand break repair machinery to damaged chromatin. Programs investigating Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, laminopathies, spermatogenesis, and homologous recombination can use SUN1 readouts as a biomarker of nuclear envelope integrity and DNA repair activity.

Each kit is configured as 96 Assays in a microplate format and is intended for in vitro research use only. Reagents include a pre-coated plate, calibrators, detection antibody, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution; aliquoting individual reagents and limiting freeze-thaw cycles between sessions helps preserve activity.
