The STXBP3 protein (Syntaxin-Binding Protein 3, also known as Munc18-3 or Munc18c) is a member of the Sec1/Munc18 family of regulatory proteins that control SNARE-mediated membrane fusion events. In metabolic research, STXBP3 has been characterized as a key regulator of insulin-stimulated GLUT4 vesicle exocytosis in adipocytes and skeletal muscle, linking its expression and post-translational modification to glucose homeostasis, insulin sensitivity, and the molecular pathology of type 2 diabetes.

This Assay Genie kit provides quantitative measurement of human STXBP3 in clinical specimens using a human-specific capture antibody with limited cross-reactivity against rodent STXBP3 orthologues. Each well accommodates 100 µL of sample, and the procedure supports biomarker studies in cohorts investigating vesicle trafficking, exocytosis, β-cell biology, and metabolic syndrome. Researchers can correlate circulating STXBP3 levels with disease state, treatment response, or genetic variation across patient cohorts.
