STT3B is the catalytic B subunit of the oligosaccharyltransferase (OST) complex, an integral endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein responsible for transferring high-mannose oligosaccharides onto asparagine residues within Asn-X-Ser/Thr consensus motifs. This post-translational N-linked glycosylation step is essential for proper protein folding, cell surface receptor quality control, and immune recognition.
