Human Steryl-sulfatase (STS) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this colorimetric ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Human Steryl-sulfatase (STS) in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay has a detection range of 1.56-100ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.99ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.1% and inter-assay CV of 10.3%.

Steryl-sulfatase is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of sulfated steroid precursors, such as dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) and estrone sulfate, to the free steroid. Dysregulation of STS has been linked to X-linked ichthyosis and hormone-related cancers. The target is a homodimer (UniProt P08842) with a molecular weight of 65,492 Da, encoded by the STS gene (NCBI Gene ID: 412).

Linearity was validated in serum (97-110%), EDTA plasma (94-120%), and heparin plasma (97-116%) across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions. Recovery averages 99% for serum (range 93-105%) and 101% for plasma (range 95-107%). For research use only.
