Human Steroid 21-hydroxylase (CYP21A2) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of Steroid 21-hydroxylase (CYP21A2) in human samples, this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is intended for research use only. The kit is compatible with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and uses a colorimetric detection method.

Manufacturer-reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.3% and inter-assay CV is 9.6%. Linearity has been evaluated across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum (99-109%, 92-102%, 103-112%, 82-95%), EDTA plasma (98-108%, 92-102%, 94-105%, 102-102%) and heparin plasma (80-89%, 101-113%, 103-113%, 96-108%). Recovery in serum averages 100% (range 94-106%) and in plasma averages 102% (range 96-108%). The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Steroid 21-hydroxylase (UniProt: P08686).

CYP21A2 specifically catalyzes the 21-hydroxylation of steroids and is required for the adrenal synthesis of mineralocorticoids and glucocorticoids. Dysregulation of CYP21A2 activity has been linked to endocrine disorders such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
