ST8SIA3 (ST8 alpha-N-acetyl-neuraminide alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 3) is a Golgi-membrane sialyltransferase that catalyzes the addition of polysialic acid chains to the neural cell adhesion molecule NCAM1. This enzyme supports neural development, synaptic plasticity, and neurogenesis, and altered ST8SIA3 expression has been linked to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and tumor types including glioblastoma and neuroblastoma.

The Assay Genie sandwich ELISA format enables quantitative measurement of human ST8SIA3 protein in serum and plasma samples, supporting neuroscience research, biomarker discovery, and studies of glycosylation pathways. The colorimetric read-out is performed on a 96-well microplate, with a sample volume of 100 uL per well. Research use only.
