Spermidine synthase (SRM) is the aminopropyl transferase that converts putrescine and decarboxylated S-adenosylmethionine into spermidine, a polyamine central to cell proliferation, autophagy, and chromatin regulation. Quantifying SRM is increasingly used in studies of polyamine metabolism, tumor biology, and age-related decline. The microplate-based workflow from Assay Genie is configured for 96 Assays with a detection range of 0.1–10 ng/mL, intended for research use only; reagents should be refrigerated upon arrival and protected from light. Pre-analytical sample handling involves centrifugation at 1000 x g for 15 minutes, after which 50 µL of each sample aliquot is loaded onto the pre-coated well plate to maximize signal-to-noise across the standard curve.
