Human SREBF2/Sterol regulatory element-binding protein 3 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich double-antibody ELISA for quantitative measurement of SREBF2 (Sterol Regulatory Element Binding Protein 2, also referred to as SREBP-2) in human research samples. The colorimetric workflow uses a biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin, and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm. SREBF2 is a transcription factor central to cholesterol and lipid metabolism regulation, and its dysregulation has been associated with diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.

The assay is reported to have a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a standard curve range of 0.313-20 ng/mL. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Spiking recovery in serum (n=5) averaged 90%, in EDTA plasma (n=5) 97%, and in heparin plasma (n=5) 96%. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C for up to 12 months.

The protocol comprises a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, 60-minute detection antibody binding, 30-minute HRP-streptavidin step, and 10-20 minutes of TMB color development in the dark, followed by stop solution and absorbance measurement. The kit is suited to research into the molecular mechanisms of metabolic disorders and the identification of new therapeutic targets.
