The Assay Genie human SPRR1B immunoassay quantifies Small Proline-Rich Protein 1B (cornifin) in human-derived research specimens, including blood-derived liquid samples, cell culture supernatants, and tissue lysates. SPRR1B is a structural precursor of the cornified cell envelope, transiently upregulated during keratinocyte terminal differentiation and re-induced in stressed, injured, or inflamed stratified squamous epithelia. Because the protein is also aberrantly expressed in several head-and-neck, esophageal, oral, and lung squamous carcinomas, the kit is widely used as a quantitative biomarker tool in epithelial differentiation studies, wound-healing research, and oncology screening panels.
