About Spondin 2 (SPON2)

SPON2, also called Mindin, is a secreted extracellular matrix glycoprotein of the F-spondin family that acts as a pattern recognition receptor in innate immunity. It binds bacterial surfaces and lipopolysaccharides, drives macrophage and neutrophil recruitment, and has been linked to inflammatory bowel disease, sepsis responses, and tumor immune infiltration across multiple cancer types including colorectal, gastric, hepatocellular, and ovarian carcinomas.
