Human Spermine oxidase (SMOX) ELISA Kit

A high-quality sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantification of human Spermine oxidase (SMOX) levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Using a colorimetric detection method with a range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.098ng/mL, the kit supports research into polyamine catabolism and SMOX-related pathologies including cancer, inflammation, and neurodegenerative disorders. SMOX is a flavoenzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of spermine to spermidine and has the potential to act as a determinant of cellular sensitivity to antitumor polyamine analogs.

Validated performance includes an Intra CV of 4.0% and Inter CV of 7.5%. Linearity has been established across serum (103-113% at 1:2 dilution to 90-99% at 1:16), EDTA plasma (89-99% to 99-108%), and heparin plasma (85-95% to 88-98%). Recovery is reported at an average of 97% for serum (range 91-103%) and 99% for plasma (range 93-105%). The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human Spermine oxidase (UniProt Q9NWM0), is intended for research use only in cell biology, and provides a reliable tool for studying the role of SMOX in health and disease.
