The Human SPCS1 ELISA Kit from Assay Genie quantifies Signal Peptidase Complex Subunit 1, a small ~12 kDa integral membrane component of the endoplasmic reticulum signal peptidase complex that mediates cleavage of N-terminal signal peptides from nascent secretory and membrane proteins. SPCS1 assembles with subunits SPCS2, SPCS3, and SEC11A to form the active heterotetramer responsible for signal peptide removal during co-translational protein translocation into the ER lumen.

Reagents supplied in this kit support quantitative measurement of SPCS1 in human-derived specimens, enabling research into protein processing, secretory pathway biology, ER-associated stress responses, and disorders linked to defective signal peptide cleavage. The assay is delivered in a microplate-based format with all buffers and detection reagents included for research use only.
