Assay Genie's SPATA18 ELISA kit provides quantitative measurement of Spermatogenesis Associated 18, a mitochondrial-eating protein (MEP) involved in selective mitochondrial degradation via lysosomal delivery. SPATA18 is recruited to depolarized mitochondria and mediates Parkin-independent mitophagy, making it a relevant target for investigations of mitochondrial quality control, Parkinson's disease models, and germ cell biology.
