Human SPAG1/Sperm-associated antigen 1 ELISA Kit

Designed for research use only, this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of human Sperm-associated antigen 1 (SPAG1), also referred to by the synonyms HSD-3.8 and Infertility-related sperm protein Spag-1. SPAG1 is a microtubule-binding protein classified as a Cancer Testis Antigen. The protein has reported roles in fertilization and in the cytoplasmic assembly of ciliary dynein arms; it binds GTP and exhibits GTPase activity, and has been associated with Ciliary Dyskinesia, Primary, 28.

The assay covers a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL with a stated sensitivity of 0.023ng/mL. Precision values are reported as an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 7.9%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, with recovery averaging 97% in serum (range 91-103%) and 99% in plasma (range 93-105%).

Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The kit detects natural and recombinant human SPAG1, with the associated UniProt entry Q07617 and a reported molecular weight of 104kDa. Subcellular localisation is described as cytoplasmic, colocalising with tubulin.
