Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of Sorbin and SH3 domain-containing protein 1 (SORBS1) in human samples, this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie supports research into cell signalling, adhesion, and insulin-related pathways. SORBS1, also known as CAP/ponsin, plays a role in tyrosine phosphorylation of CBL by linking CBL to the insulin receptor, is required for insulin-stimulated glucose transport, and is involved in the formation of actin stress fibers and focal adhesions.

The kit detects natural and recombinant human SORBS1 and is reactive with human samples including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids (Uniprot: Q9BX66). Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/ml, a sensitivity of 0.12 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.2%, and an inter-assay CV of 8.3%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Average recovery is reported as 99% (range 93–105%) in serum and 101% (range 95–107%) in plasma.

For research use only. Synonyms associated with SORBS1 include Ponsin, SH3 domain protein 5, SH3P12, c-Cbl-associated protein, CAP, KIAA0894, KIAA1296, and SH3D5.
