SON is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear DNA/RNA-binding protein that acts as a critical component of the spliceosome, where it regulates constitutive and alternative pre-mRNA splicing. Loss-of-function mutations in the SON gene cause Zhu-Tokita-Takenouchi-Kim syndrome, a rare early-onset developmental disorder, making accurate quantification of SON protein levels important in molecular biology research.

The Assay Genie Human SON ELISA Kit is an in vitro immunoassay formatted on a microplate, enabling quantification of the target protein through a chromogenic readout measured on a standard plate reader.
