Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of somatoliberin — also known as growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) — in human samples. It is reactive with human analytes and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids [C0, S2]. Detection is carried out colorimetrically on a pre-coated microplate [C0].

Manufacturer-reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.198 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.39–25 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.2% and inter-assay CV of 7.4% [S2]. Linearity has been assessed for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions, with representative ranges of 113–125% (serum, 1:2) and 88–98% (heparin plasma, 1:2) [S2]. Spike-and-recovery values average 97% for serum (range 91–103%) and 99% for plasma (range 93–105%) [S2].

Somatoliberin is a secreted peptide hormone of the glucagon family, also referred to as Growth hormone-releasing factor, Somatocrinin, Somatorelin, GRF, or GHRF, that is released by the hypothalamus and acts on the adenohypophysis to stimulate growth hormone secretion [S2]. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human somatoliberin and is intended for research use only [S2].
