Description
A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Solute carrier family 12 member 1 (SLC12A1), also referred to as the sodium-potassium-chloride cotransporter 2 (NKCC2) or Bumetanide-sensitive sodium-(potassium)-chloride cotransporter 2. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples. It is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and demonstrates specificity for natural and recombinant human SLC12A1.
The reported detection range is 0.312-20 ng/mL, with a sensitivity of 0.12 ng/mL. Precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.4% and an inter-assay CV of 9.5%. Recovery data are supplied: serum shows an average recovery of 96% (range 90-102%) and plasma shows an average of 98% (range 92-104%). Linearity data are reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. The kit is supplied for research use only, with a listed research area of cancer.
SLC12A1 is described as an electrically silent transporter system that mediates sodium and chloride reabsorption and plays a vital role in the regulation of ionic balance and cell volume. It is a multi-pass membrane protein associated with UniProt entry Q13621, and the kit provides a tool for studying the protein's role in kidney physiology and related disease research.
