Description

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for quantitative detection of human Sodium/potassium-transporting ATPase subunit alpha-3 (ATP1A3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples. Synonyms include Na(+)/K(+) ATPase alpha(III) subunit and Sodium pump subunit alpha-3.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/ml and a sensitivity of 15.62pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.8% and inter-assay CV is 9.9%. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human ATP1A3. Linearity has been established in serum (88-116%), EDTA plasma (97-121%) and heparin plasma (95-119%) across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions. Recovery averages 93% in serum (range 87-99%) and 95% in plasma (range 89-101%).

ATP1A3 is the catalytic subunit of the Na+/K+-ATPase, which hydrolyzes ATP to exchange sodium and potassium ions across the plasma membrane, producing energy for secondary active transport of nutrients. Dysregulation of ATP1A3 has been linked to neurological disorders including rapid-onset dystonia-parkinsonism (DYT12) and hemiplegic migraine. The active enzyme comprises alpha (catalytic), beta and gamma subunits and localizes to the cell membrane as a multi-pass membrane protein (UniProt P13637). For research use only.
