Human Sodium/glucose cotransporter 1 (SLC5A1) ELISA Kit

Designed for the precise quantification of human Sodium/glucose cotransporter 1 (SLC5A1), this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is intended for research use only. The kit detects natural and recombinant human SLC5A1, a multi-pass membrane transporter protein also known as high affinity sodium-glucose cotransporter, solute carrier family 5 member 1, Na(+)/glucose cotransporter 1, NAGT, and SGLT1. SLC5A1 actively transports glucose into cells by Na(+) cotransport with a Na(+) to glucose coupling ratio of 2:1, and is expressed mainly in intestine and kidney. Dysregulation of the protein has been implicated in diabetes, kidney disorders, and other metabolic conditions, and mutations in the gene are associated with glucose/galactose malabsorption, making it a useful biomarker for related research.

The assay is validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.076ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.3%, and an inter-assay CV of 9.9%. Linearity has been demonstrated across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery testing yielded averages of 102% (range 96-108%) in serum and 104% (range 98-110%) in plasma. The kit is associated with UniProt entry P13866.
