Sorting Nexin 27 (SNX27) is a distinctive member of the sorting nexin family that combines a phox-homology (PX) domain with a PDZ domain, enabling it to recognize specific motifs on the cytoplasmic tails of transmembrane cargo and retrieve those receptors from early endosomes back to the plasma membrane. The Assay Genie SNX27 ELISA Kit provides a quantitative immunoassay platform for measuring endogenous SNX27 protein levels in human-derived research samples, supporting studies of receptor recycling, surface proteome maintenance, and broader membrane trafficking biology.

In neuronal systems, SNX27 regulates AMPA-type glutamate receptor trafficking at the synapse and has been linked to research on Alzheimer's disease, Down syndrome, and other neurodegenerative pathways. This 96 Assays format kit is intended for research use only and is suited to investigations of endosomal sorting, PDZ-mediated cargo recognition, retromer-associated retrieval, and the molecular biology of synaptic receptor turnover. Researchers examining neuronal signaling cascades, biomarker discovery, or membrane trafficking will find the plate-based workflow convenient for batch analysis of experimental specimens.

Each well functions as an independent reaction chamber, allowing flexible experimental design across the microplate. Reagents should be refrigerated upon receipt to preserve antibody binding activity and stability, and aliquoting the concentrated reagents minimizes repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Only a small sample volume per well is required, which conserves valuable clinical or experimental material. Standard incubation and washing steps prepare the plate for readout on conventional microplate absorbance instrumentation.
