Human SMN1/Survival of Motor Neuron 1, Telomeric ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human SMN1 (Survival of Motor Neuron 1, Telomeric) concentrations in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Using a double antibody detection format, the assay targets a protein central to motor neuron maintenance, with defects in the SMN1 gene linked to spinal muscular atrophy.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/ml and a range of 31.25-2000 pg/ml. Recovery in spiked samples averaged 100% in serum (n=5, range 98-105%), 95% in EDTA plasma (n=5, range 85-105%), and 99% in UFH plasma (n=5, range 93-105%). Linearity in serial dilutions of spiked samples was demonstrated across serum (87-105% at 1:2, 89-101% at 1:4, 85-101% at 1:8), EDTA plasma (82-99% at 1:2, 83-96% at 1:4, 84-96% at 1:8), and UFH plasma (84-97% at 1:2, 85-96% at 1:4, 89-100% at 1:8). Precision is reported as intra-assay CV<8% and inter-assay CV<10%. The kit is for research use only and is stored at 4°C for 6 months.
