Researchers investigating cardiac electrophysiology, striated muscle biology, and inherited arrhythmia syndromes use this quantitative immunoassay to measure Sarcolemma Associated Protein (SLMAP) in human biospecimens, formatted on a standard microplate for routine medium-throughput screening. SLMAP is a tail-anchored component of the sarcolemma and endoplasmic reticulum that participates in excitation-contraction coupling, ion channel trafficking, and centrosome organization, and published work links SLMAP variants to Brugada syndrome, arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, atrial fibrillation, and a subset of congenital myopathies, which has driven growing interest in circulating SLMAP as a candidate biomarker.
