The Assay Genie Human SLC16A12 ELISA Kit quantitatively measures MCT12 (Monocarboxylate Transporter 12), a solute carrier protein encoded by the SLC16A12 gene and primarily expressed in renal tubular epithelium and the ocular lens. Sequence variants in SLC16A12 have been linked to familial cataract with renal glucosuria, supporting applications in ophthalmology, nephrology, and membrane transporter biology research.

Run on a 96-well microplate, the kit uses a sandwich immunoassay format with a human-specific capture antibody and a chromogenic readout to quantify MCT12 levels in serum and plasma. Each kit ships with a pre-coated 96-well plate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, recombinant standards, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution, supporting 96 individual determinations.
