Human SKIV2L ELISA Kit (HUFI08478)

The SKIV2L helicase is a core subunit of the cytoplasmic SKI complex that channels aberrant mRNAs into the RNA exosome for 3'-to-5' decay, and the Assay Genie Human SKIV2L ELISA Kit is built to quantify this protein in human research specimens.

This colorimetric ELISA kit uses a 96 Assays microplate layout, giving research laboratories the throughput to screen sample cohorts and pair SKIV2L readouts with downstream functional studies of nonsense-mediated decay, viral RNA clearance, or trichohepatoenteric syndrome (THES) biology, where loss-of-function variants in SKIV2L have been documented.

The assay accepts clarified human serum or EDTA plasma processed with a 1000 x g centrifugation step, and is intended for research use only, not for diagnostic procedures. Capture and detection antibodies, standards, and substrate reagents are supplied pre-titrated, so plates can be loaded directly after equilibrating kit components to room temperature and avoiding prolonged light exposure of the chromogenic substrate. Plates are read in a standard microplate reader, and concentrations are interpolated from the included standard curve against the SKIV2L calibrator.

SKIV2L has been linked to type I interferon signaling in primary fibroblasts and to ribonucleoprotein complex assembly, which makes quantitative protein readouts in clinical serum or plasma cohorts useful for studies comparing healthy donors to patients carrying SKIV2L mutations or presenting with syndromic enteropathy.
