Sphingomyelin synthase 1 (SGMS1) is a Golgi-resident enzyme that catalyzes sphingomyelin biosynthesis from ceramide and phosphatidylcholine, and the Assay Genie Human SGMS1 ELISA Kit provides a quantitative immunoassay platform for measuring this enzyme's circulating levels in human serum or plasma-derived specimens.

By coupling a capture antibody to a precoated microplate, the plate-based workflow converts SGMS1 concentration in each well into a chromogenic signal proportional to target abundance, supporting studies of membrane lipid metabolism, inflammatory signaling, and tumor biology.
