Description

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Pulmonary Surfactant-Associated Protein B (SFTPB) in research samples. SFTPB is a key component of pulmonary surfactant, essential for lowering surface tension at the air–liquid interface and maintaining lung integrity. The kit supports studies of respiratory disease biology, including conditions such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and pulmonary fibrosis.

The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection. Sensitivity is 0.469 ng/mL and the detection range is 0.781–50 ng/mL. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reagents are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. The protocol involves loading standards and samples at 37°C for 90 minutes, adding biotin-labelled detection antibody for 60 minutes, adding HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes, developing with TMB substrate for 10–20 minutes in the dark, and reading absorbance at 450 nm.

Linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 85–100%, 89–105%, and 88–99% for serum (n=5); 84–94%, 92–100%, and 83–99% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 82–99%, 82–99%, and 85–98% for heparin plasma (n=5). Recovery ranges were 89–98% (average 95%) for serum, 92–105% (average 100%) for EDTA plasma, and 88–104% (average 96%) for heparin plasma.
